Venus Growers

VENUS was established in 1964.It began as a farmer producers cooperation distributing fruits and vegetables (especially peaches) in both inland and abroad.
In 1968 the Agricultural Cooperative of Veria was formed under the name “VENUS” constituted of 800 members.Based on the established philosophy since its founding the company’s motto,
“To develop stable relationship and to serve the best available at any time” has been thoroughly pursued.

In 1992 Venus understanding the needs and the potentials of the worldwide market, moves towards fruit processed production by initializing its canning factory in the town of Veria.

In 1998 Venus expands by buying the canning factory of E.VI.CON. S.A. located at the city of Alexandria. An enormous investment that allows the production capacity to be doubled.

From 1998 - 2004 Venus enters a new era by introducing automation in most parts of the production and shipping. Builds new warehouses and upgrades its technologies according to European standards.

Venus Growers as a cooperative is constituted of about 800 members that cultivate raw fruits for both fresh – fruit market and industry. This production is in complete accordance with the demands and specifications of the Integrated Crop Management System, which is based on the AGRO 2-1, AGRO 2-2 standards (similar to Eurepgap standards) certified by the Hellenic ministry of agriculture.

Beyond the coverage of legal obligations and peach production specifications Venus Growers are positively suggesting:
Specific improvements regarding plant protection and fertilization in order to safeguard the areas environmental needs.
Constant development of fruit quality to meet both present and upcoming market demands, promoting in this way the goal for top quality processed fruits.
To ensure the viability of agriculture by creating concretely advantages resulting at the improvement of the producers’ financial income.
